Instructors:

Manizeh Mirza-Gruber, M.D. (She/her), CEO and Founder of Mindful in Practice (Main event)

Michael Millet, PT, DPT (Tai Chi)

This event is designed for all those who care for others, including Health Care and Wellness Practitioners. Being charged with the honor and responsibility of caring for others, combined with fast-paced, multitasking long work days, we can easily get swept away from recognizing what is arising in the present moment within ourselves and the world around us. We can find ourselves in a state of dis-ease, with difficulty knowing how we got there or how to get out of it. Mindful presence has many benefits for our body, mind, heart, and spirit.

In this mini-retreat, we will focus on the interconnection of our mind and body and how our nervous system positively resonates and rejuvenates with “resting in mindful presence”. While practicing opening our hearts to compassion, we create an opportunity to heal from within so we can embrace our challenges, care for others, manage stressful situations, and attend to our own self-care through self-awareness.

Through didactic teachings, guided meditations, experiential practices, sharing, and questions/answers, you will learn how being present for yourself allows you to be present and connect with others in your personal and professional life. You can share your thoughts and feelings without judgment in a brave space, knowing that we are all interconnected.

You will experience a sense of ease and belonging to yourself, as you connect inwardly with your mind-body-heart and cultivate your self-awareness. You will be able to incorporate these teachings and practices into your personal and professional life, and nurture your heart with tenderness and kindness as you create a sense of emotional balance, ease, and self-care.
