Kundalini Yoga is a system of yogic exercise and meditation that promotes health, happiness, and spiritual awareness. There are three basic components to Kundalini Yoga. There are the physical postures, literally thousands of kriyas (exercise sets) that strengthen and balance the nervous system, the glandular system and the circulatory system to promote optimum physical and emotional health. Breathing techniques (pranayam) assist a person in processing emotions and feelings, controlling moods, and developing concentration. Mantra (sound) and meditation techniques work to direct and discipline the mind.
Kundalini Yoga is a practice for the modern day householder, for those coping with the daily challenges and stresses of holding jobs, raising families, and managing businesses. It is a technology that strengthens the nervous system, balances the glandular system, purifes the body and calms the mind. In KY there is no one singular practice or set series. Instead, the focus is on kriyas. Kriya (which means βactionβ in Sanskrit) is a specific sequence of yogic techniques and meditations resulting in an elevated state of consciousness. Known as the βyoga of awarenessβ, KY inspires a change by supporting the transformation of self-limiting beliefs and habits whilst awakening the creative potential within.
